Our ethos in the brewery is to create the best beer in the most environmentally friendly way we can. In the brewhouse we use 100% green energy that comes from windmills, which keeps our carbon footprint as small as possible. We use efficient energy recapture technology during the brew to reclaim heat that would otherwise be lost. We also save excess transfer water for cleaning the brewery. Local farmers collect our spent grain for animal feed.
We invest in our people by championing the London Living Wage scheme and with ongoing training. We encourage our brew team to gain professional qualifications from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, to create the best environment for our brewers to make the best beer possible.
From the outset, we have worked with local Hackney charities with donations of beer for events and funds to help their causes. We are in the process of creating an Artist Series, where all of the profits will go to art charities. Keep an eye out for it.
